Wright Educators Association
Wright Educators Association
Our schools are the future of our community and our democracy; the Wright Educators Association stands up for the educators and students across the Wright Elementary School District.
Founded in 1969, WEA represents the certificated educators of Wright Elementary School District. WEA is associated with the California Teachers Association and the National Education Association. Teachers’ working conditions are students’ classroom conditions.
In support of the best possible education for our students, we bargain and organize collectively for fair wages, safe working conditions, and effective, equitable schools.

Why is the Wright Educators Association (WEA) taking a stand?
We are advocating for competitive compensation to attract and retain the best educators for our students. We are also negotiating for guaranteed preparation time to ensure quality instruction and better communication with parents.
Why is attracting and retaining teachers a concern?
Our community is a very expensive place to live, and teacher salaries are not competitive with neighboring districts. This makes it difficult to attract and retain qualified educators.
How do our teacher salaries compare to neighboring districts?
According to current 2024-2025 salary schedules, our teachers are paid 16.5% less than teachers in neighboring districts like Bellevue, Piner-Olivet, and Mark West. This is despite our teachers requiring more college units.
How does the Wright Elementary School District's funding compare to other districts?
Our district receives 113% of total revenue per student compared to the average California elementary school district. This ranks us 2nd highest out of the 4 competitive districts.
What can I do to support Wright educators and students?
You can stand with us by telling the School Board that our students and teachers deserve the best! Demand guaranteed preparation time and competitive compensation for teachers to ensure quality instruction by the best educators.
